Carbon Fiber Flightcase for Double Bass
Carbon fiber specialist Accord makes the most compact doublebass flightcase available. Its thick yet lightweight shell made of pure carbon fiber provides excellent protection. The flightcase can be ordered in all Accord 3d colors and in full color according to RAL Classic.
The pro-grade Protex® butterfly latches are recessed into the case shell for best protection. A pair of wheels mounted on the side makes handling easy. Despite its compact shape, the Accord flightcase can hold a doublebass inside a thin softcase.
The following options are available:
- For maximum useable space inside, the Accord flightcase can be ordered without the 10 mm thick foam insulation. This will also minimize the case weight.
- The instrument suspension as supplied by Accord consists of fixed foam pads in the case bottom and lid, and fabric covered foam cushions with velcro, which can be inserted on the sides to protect the bouts of the double bass.
- Fiedler is offering a foam pad fitting for a single instrument, with or without a softcase. The foam pads used by Fiedler consist of a strong foam which will hold the double bass securely in place while still absorbing vibrations. For the Fiedler fitting, the instruments has to be brought to the Fiedler workshop in Berlin. Select "Pick up by yourself" in the shop checkout for this option.
